Building an Innovation & Entrepreneurship Culture
The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell of GSSSIETW actively promotes entrepreneurship among students through awareness programmes, entrepreneurship training, competitions, workshops and industry collaborations.
Entrepreneurship Awareness & Training
Awareness camps and entrepreneurship development programmes are conducted to develop entrepreneurial skills and knowledge among students, including programmes sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
Open Learning & Development Programmes
The ED Cell successfully conducted a one-year Open Learning Program on Entrepreneurship and Business Management as a Value Added Program for the Mysuru region.
Technology Entrepreneurship Development
The ED Cell conducted a 6-week Technology Entrepreneurship Development Program on Food Technology and a 3-week Entrepreneurship Development Program sponsored by DST, Government of India, exclusively for women.
Startup Ecosystem & Industry Collaboration
GSSSIETW signed an MoU with Atal Incubation Centre – Jyothi Institute of Technology Foundation, Bengaluru, as a co-incubation initiative. Idea innovation competitions, business plan presentations, conferences and entrepreneurship workshops have also been organized.
Establishment of Incubation Centre
The ED Cell submitted a proposal to DST under the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) – Inclusive TBI Scheme. The institution was recommended a grant of ₹3.75 crore, with GSSS Management contributing ₹75 lakh towards establishing the incubation centre.
From Ideas to Startups
The i-TBI aims to transform innovative ideas into prototypes and prototypes into startups while creating a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the institution and surrounding region. The centre will provide funding support to innovators to help transform ideas into prototypes and prototypes into startups.
GSSS Technology Business Incubator Foundation
GSSS Technology Business Incubator Foundation (GSSSTBIF) is a Section 8 company being established at the GSSSIETW campus with the support of the management.
Building a Startup & Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
GSSSTBIF aims to develop and promote social entrepreneurs and startups that can contribute positively to community development and rural development through technology intervention. The initiative seeks to strengthen GSSSIETW as a startup hub in the region and foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-driven development.
