Prior to the formal inauguration, DST-iTBI-GSSSTBIF was virtually inaugurated on September 6, 2024, by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of Science & Technology, Government of India, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, DST, Government of India. The event was further graced by Shri Praveen Roy, Scientist G, Head TTI, DST, and Dr. Aravind Kumar, Scientist G & Advisor, DST.

The virtual inauguration event took place at IIT Delhi, where it was witnessed on behalf of the host institute by Dr. Padmashree S. and Dr. Sushma S. J. At the host institute in Mysuru, the event was attended by Shree O. Prathap Kumar, Shree B.K. Nataraj, and Shree R.K. Bharath, along with Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW. Faculty members and students actively participated in the event, marking a new beginning for innovation and technology-driven entrepreneurship in the region.
